Known for their architectural interventions, the artist collective Simparch constructed an expansive, custom-built ceiling designed to radically alter the gallery's acoustics. The massive barrel vaulte was developed in collaboration with Kevin Drumm, a Chicago musician specializing in live and sampled electronics, who was commissioned to create a soundscape designed specifically around their installation. During the course of this exhibition, The Society co-sponsored several concerts with Chicago based experimental music organizations.
