Daniel Buren

Intersecting Axes: A Work in Situ
April 10 – May 04, 1983

Daniel Buren
Installation View,
The Renaissance Society, 1983

The works of French artist Daniel Buren has been exhibited widely here and abroad. Since 1965, Buren has consistently executed works using vertically striped fabric printed in white and colored bands 8.7 centimeters wide. Buren's works are determined by the specific location in which they are conceived and, within that context, comprise a redefinition of space and time. The exhibition at The Renassance Society wil therefore be unique to its spaces.
