"It is a mistake to view Modernism as a block without fissures, or cracks." -Juan Mu?oz

Madrid artist Juan Mu?oz is known for his enigmatic drawings, sculptures, and architectural installations that inhabit a strange narrative space. What is less well known is that he was equally adept with the written word. In 1990, The Society published this book in the nouveau roman style that features a fictional 'anthropology ' by Munoz. The text relates to a town in the highlands of Peru where every year a house is built, only to be destroyed a short time after. The building and the locals' reflections on it, give Mu?oz a vehicle to delve into the psychological effects of space. This catalogue is one of the most singular volumes published by the Society and is the only one of its kind by Mu?oz.

Published in conjunction with Centre d'Art Contemporain, Gen?ve.
