Video and Language/Video as Language

November 22 – December 30, 1987

Peter Rose
Digital Speech, 1984
13 min., color, mono

Digital Speech uses a traveler?s anecdote, a perverse variant of a classical Zen parable, as a vehicle for an exploration of language, through a gesture. The tape plays with the nature of narrative, with the ways of telling, performing and illustrating by means of nonsense language, scat singing and video rescan for comic comment. ?Peter Rose
